Best Orlando Hotels for Kids That You Will Love Too!

Sharing is caring!

As frequent visitors to Orlando ourselves, we love discovering a new family hotel that has super family-friendly facilities or revisiting previous places and mixing up the hotel room type for a different experience.

stunning overview of pool, lake and Family Room with beds, Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort, Orlando, Florida

1. Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Family Friendly Resort

We all loved our stay here and meeting the resident parrot, Merlot in the entrance lobby. This resort’s location is close to Lake Buena Vista and Disney theme parks with plenty of activities and entertainment including: tennis courts, pickleball, bike riding, putt putt golf, kayaking, pedal boats and lagoon-style pool. It’s a really convenient and beautiful place to stay and one of the best family hotels in Orlando.

My children love the pool’s swim-through cave, water slide and complimentary bikes, rock climbing and hanging out at Camp Hyatt Kids’ Club.

Family Room with beds, Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort

King Rooms sleep a family of 4. Alternatively, do what we did, and have a room with one king bed and a sofa bed. The Hyatt organised a fold out bed too, meaning that our kids each had their own bed which stopped any arguments from the children! The hotel main restaurant, LakeHouse, offers a delicious breakfast, with some offers allowing kids to eat breakfast free.

Cabana Bay Hotel lazy river Orlando Florida

2. Cabana Bay Beach Family Resort by Universal Orlando 3*

We’ve stayed here several times and love the flexibility and laid back vibe of this hotel. The Cabana Bay Beach Resort has two kid-friendly pools (one with a waterslide and the other a lazy river), and a bowling alley onsite. The pools have a beach area with buckets and spades. An advantage of staying here is that you can pool hop to the the other Universal resort swimming pools.

The hotel has several restaurants and cafes within the hotel including Hideaway Grill pool bar, Starbucks, Galaxy Bowl restaurant and the main food court. It is one of the best value family resorts near Universal Studios (Orlando) Theme parks.

Hilton Buena Vista Hotel Orlando, Florida

3. Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace Hotel

We chose this family-friendly hotel due to the lazy river and the location – it’s a very short walk over to Disney Springs which has plenty of entertainment, shopping and attractions for non park days.

Family accommodation options range from rooms with double queen beds to Tower Suites which can sleep to 6-8 and Deluxe tower suites can sleep between 4-6. Island suites offer more space and pool access. All rooms have a small fridge and microwave.

We opted for a suite with one bedroom having two king beds and then the next room a double sofa bed.

In the lobby you can rent DVDs and find the the food court with plenty of breakfast choices if you are heading to the parks early.

This hotel offers free shuttles to Disney World and Universal theme parks and is one of our favourite family hotels in Orlando.

Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek Lazy River, Florida

4. Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort

This hotel was one we stayed in last year. The huge array of facilities, comfortable, spacious room options with one to four-bedroom suites that can sleep up to twelve guests. and two fun lazy rivers were the biggest attractions.

Other hotel activities, entertainment and games includes a mini-golf course, volleyball court, an indoor game room with a video arcade, five swimming pools (one with a pirate ship), waterslides and interactive water fountains, games and face painting etc. All making it a great contender for one of the best hotels for families in Orlando.

This family-friendly resort’s location is ideal: The Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort sits adjacent to the Walt Disney World Resort, providing easy access to local attractions including Disney’s Boardwalk and SeaWorld theme parks.

There are several timeshare/vacation rentals on this resort (can be booked similar to hotel); and a hotel type property.

Some rooms and suites have a mini fridge, bunk beds for kids and a coffee machine. The timeshare units have full kitchens which allows you to bring groceries.

We opted for a two bedroom suite with the girls in a queen bed each with separate bathroom and a master bedroom.

10. Disney’s Beach Club Resort

Friends of ours recently stayed here with their children and helped with this family-friendly guide. The resort location on Crescent Lake along with the Yacht Club Resort, has rooms close to both Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios which are walking distance away. Across the lake is the easily accessible Disney Boardwalk.

The pool area is one of the best in all of Disney World, with Stormalong Bay water park, Dunes Cove and a couple of quiet pools, a lazy river, two waterslides, and a sand bottom pool, including a fun pirate ship slide!

Rooms have plenty of options with a standard room for 4 guests, up to a 2-bedroom villa that sleeps up to 9.

DIsney beach club resort room

Facilities Overview of the Beach Club Resort

This kid-friendly Orlando hotel and resort offers plenty of amenities including three pools, several resort restaurants, a fitness center, s’mores around the campfire, boat rentals, fishing, tennis, volleyball, jogging trail, an arcade, spa and fitness center, and movies under the stars.

Note there is little or no shade around the pool (either natural or umbrellas) and it is a big hotel, so it can be quite a walk from your room to reception.

Our friends said, “We loved the proximity to both the Epcot entrance and the Boardwalk (walking distance), which gave great opportunities for food and entertainment in the evening. The Boardwalk is particularly good if you don’t have park to park tickets. The fact that you are first pick up on the Disney buses make it easy to get around, and all the other parks are only 15 minute bus ride away.”

If you are comparing the Yacht Club vs beach club, then the beach club has a proper beach and is more relaxed than the Yacht Club – which is often booked for conventions. Otherwise, they are very similar and share great facilities.

15. Grove Resort and Spa Orlando (with Water Park)

Looking for kid friendly hotels in Orlando, fl? Then this one may just meet all your requirements if you don’t mind being a little further out from the parks.

The Grove Resort Orlando is a great option for larger families and groups. Choose between comfortable and spacious one, two and three bedroomed suites, which either have an ensuite or bathroom nearby.  We enjoyed our first stay here as we were located near the pools which made it one of our favorite Orlando resorts for kids and good value.

However, a second visit accommodated us in the furthest building away, which meant a myriad of corridors to get from room to pool and car etc. So do ask for a room nearer the pools. The apartments have great facilities, including a full kitchen with washer/dryer making it easier for families.

Children will love the convenient onsite Surfari waterpark, lazy river, water slides, tubes, sandy beach areas, several pools, a boating lake with swan boats.

Other restaurants options are close by if you would rather not self cater.

20. World Center Marriott.

Another family resort we’ve stayed in, is the World Center Marriott. Not only is the World Center Marriott just 1.5 miles from Walt Disney World and a short distance from Universal Studios, SeaWorld, and the Orlando International Airport, but it also has its very own waterpark, which was a huge hit with our kids.

Rooms at the World Center Marriott

There are a few different room types to choose from at the World Center Marriott, all with a refrigerator.

Beautiful white bathroom, Marriott World Center hotel, Orlando, Florida

During our stay at the World Center Marriott, we opted for a queen room with two queen beds. Suites with a separate living area are available.

For us, the hotel buffet breakfast, in particular, was one of our favourites as it meant you could grab something to eat before beginning your day at Disney or Universal Studios

Amenities at the World Center Marriott

The reason why we booked the World Center Marriot was because of its onsite River Falls Water Park. Boasting three multi-rider tube waterslides, three plunging body slides, a relaxing 575-foot long lazy river, and a kids splash zone.

If waterslides aren’t your thing, however, then the World Center Marriott also has a zero entry lagoon style pool with cabanas and sun loungers lining the water’s edge.

Beautiful Laser show at Marriott World Center hotel, Orlando, Florida

My kids absolutely loved the laser light show that lasts for 10 minutes every evening over the hotel’s main swimming pool. You can watch the laser show from some room balconies or from the poolside. These facilities make it one of the best family hotels in the Orlando area.

Pros:

  • Onsite water park
  • The rooms at the World Center Marriott were spacious, modern, and comfortable.
  • With so many activities going on, our kids were always entertained.
  • The World Center Marriotts location couldn’t be better as you’re close to all of Orlando’s major attractions.
  • Plenty of hotel restaurants onsite
  • Nightly laser show.
  • The staff were really friendly and were always happy to help.

22. Disney’s Polynesian

The great thing about the Magic Kingdom fireworks is that you don’t actually have to be in Magic Kingdom to enjoy them.

You can still watch the display—and hear all the music—from Disney’s Contemporary, Polynesian, or Grand Floridian resorts.

Another great reason to stay here, is the Polynesian is home to ‘Ohana where you can have a character meal with Lilo and Stitch.

You can choose from Standard, Theme Park, Pool or Marina, and Lagoon View Rooms, at this Disney resort that sleeps 5. They have 2 queen beds, 1-day bed, along with a beverage cooler, coffee and tea station, personal patio or balcony.

For larger families of up to 8 adults, the Polynesian Villas & Bungalows offer a touch of grandeur. The Deluxe Studios feature a queen bed, queen-size pull-down bed, and a single pull-down bed, complete with a kitchenette and a view of the lake.

As for the Bungalows, they come with a full kitchen, washer and dryer, private deck, and plunge pool.

The resort’s culinary offerings are equally impressive, with the beloved ‘Ohana restaurant stealing the show. Enjoy the Best Friends Breakfast with Lilo and Stitch, followed by an all-you-can-eat Hawaiian feast with music and flair.

Savor other delights at Capt. Cook’s, Kona Cafe, Kona Island, and the iconic Pineapple Lanai, where the famous pineapple ice cream, the Dole Whip awaits.

Much like the Contemporary Resort, the Polynesian Village Resort also offers a whole range of recreational activities. Apart from the usual outdoor sports, spa, and fitness center, the property flaunts an Oasis Pool and a Lava Pool which has a towering volcano, cascading waterfall, and an exciting 142-foot water slide.

24. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

The lodge was designed in a horseshoe curve to give guests incredible views of 4 of the savannas that animals in the Animal Kingdom park call home.

The Animal Kingdom Lodge features two pools, the Uzima Springs Pool and the Samawati Springs Pool. There is also an 128-foot waterslide. The pool area also has a water playground that is split into three distinctive zones for children of different ages.

On site is the Hakuna Matata Playground which is equipped with small slides and climbing frames that overlook the savanna and flamingo area.

The Animal Kingdom Lodge has rooms that sleep 2, 4, 6, or 8 adults with rooftop, pool, or savanna views.

The Savanna view rooms and suites are the most expensive at the lodge but waking up to the greenery of the savanna and animals outside your window is truly a one of a kind experience.

The dining options at Animal Kingdom Lodge are extensive, with all you can eat buffets, signature dining experiences and grab and go snacks in numerous bars and lounges.

You can also dine with an animal specialist, learning about all the animals roaming around outside in the savanna or hire a private guide who takes you around the safari and finishes off the experience with a gourmet dinner.

25. Disney’s Grand Floridian Hotel

Transport yourself to the grandeur of the Victorian era at the Grand Floridan. The garden at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa features a white sand beach, a rose garden, and a variety of tropical flora. Grab a boat from Magic Kingdom and sail back to your hotel.

Given all of the amazing resorts at Disney, it should not come as a surprise that many of their holiday additions are can’t miss experiences. In particular, be sure to check out the Grand Floridian’s Gingerbread house.

It’s a giant house crafted out of all home-made ingredients by the expert bakers and chocolatiers on site and is a great spot to take a Christmas card photo! It’s easy to hop on board the resort monorail and visit the Grand Floridian, Polynesian, and Contemporary resorts to explore all they have to offer!

Pros:

  • Proximity to Magic kingdom
  • Mary Poppins decor themed rooms.
  • Good sized rooms and bathroom.
  • Good storage for family of 4.
  • Cleanliness of resort.
  • Excellent viewpoint for fireworks over the lake.

Cons:

  • Lack of quick eating facilities. Most of the Grand Floridian restaurants were bookable formal dining.
  • The cleaning of the rooms was terrible and deteriorated throughout the week.
  • Not enough sun lounges around one of the pools. With a lot of guests putting towels on sunbeds then leaving them their all day despite signage asking people not to do this.
  • Pool areas were extremely rough on your feet which caused the girls feet to bleed.
