1. American Girl Bistro at Florida Mall

Any kid who adores dolls will also revel in the American Girl store. Little ones can role play with various dolls, toy strollers, changing stations, play house etc.

All the dolls and accessories (not cheap!) are available to buy. You can not only purchase little girls outfits which match the dolls, but also visit the bistro and dine with your doll!

If you haven’t brought a doll, don’t fret as the store will lend you one. They have little seats for the dolls to sit in, and you are given a mini plate, cup, and the napkin holders are hair ties that you get to keep. American Girl is a fun place to visit if you are looking for things to do with kids in Orlando on a rainy day.

2. T-REX Cafe

T-REX Cafe takes you on a prehistoric adventure where you can enjoy face-to-face encounters with life-sized animatronic dinosaurs, hands-on educational activities, shop and eat. 

Every 20 minutes this dino themed restaurant in Orlando, rumbles as a meteor shower erupts. There are themed dining areas with different sights and sounds including an ice cavern and fern forrest and a kids play area.

Younger kids will love the fossil sandpit, and the Discovery Creek water mill where children can pan for precious gems and stones.

Although this restaurant is in Disney Springs, the restaurant isn’t owned by Disney, so if you call Disney for a reservation and they are full, try booking directly. This is the best restaurant in Orlando for kids who are dino fans!

3. Chef Mickeys

Chef Mickey’s is located inside Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Once inside the Resort, proceed to the 4th floor concourse where Chef Mickey’s is located. There is no need for a theme park ticket. From the Magic Kingdom, Epcot or the Ticket and transportation center you can take the monorail. From any of the parks and Disney springs you can take the bus, or from anywhere in Orlando you can take a taxi, Uber or Lyft to Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

If you haven’t already done so, don’t forget to make your dining reservation as Chef Mickey’s is very popular – it’s one of the best restaurants for kids in Orlando due to the character interactions.

Chef Mickey’s is a buffet, and menu items vary. Expect to see the popular Mickey waffle and of course Mickey Mouse himself plus his friends, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto. Healthier choices for kids at Disney will have a ‘Mickey Check’ symbol next to them.

If you time your dinner reservation right you can view the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the Contemporary Resort.

4. Kobe Steakhouse

Kobe Steakhouse is a hibachi cook at your table restaurant with a fiery cooking show to boot. Expect seared steak, shrimp, chicken and sushi.

5. Rainforest Cafe

One of the most well known of the Orlando themed restaurants is the Rainforest Cafe. Eat alongside a large trumpeting elephant, with a crash of thunder as you hear the sound of rain pour within the interactive rainforest at The Rainforest Cafe in Disney Springs.

There is also a Rainforest Cafe at Disney’s Animal Kingdom park which you can access from outside the park without a ticket.

The Rainforest Cafe offers popular food choices like pasta, burgers, seafood, steak, salads etc. Try the brownie Volcano dessert! This fun Orlando restaurant also has a store; an attraction within itself with lots of cool bits to buy. It’s a chain restaurant but they know their audience, making it one of the best kids restaurants in Orlando.

6. Benihana

Benihana is a fun place to eat in Orlando. This restaurant has a chef performing knife tricks and more right in front of you as they cook your meal.

7. Ford’s Garage

Step back to the 1920’s at  Ford’s Garage and enjoy burger, wings, nachos and all the family favorites at this fun restaurant in Orlando! The 1920’s service station themed restaurant includes vintage Ford vehicles, tyres, signs, and gas pumps.  Adults make sure you know the password for the prohibition bar!

8. Hot Dog Hall of Fame

Universal City Walk’s Hot Dog Hall of Fame is one of the popular family restaurants in Orlando Florida.

The Sugar Factory at ICON Park is a must for anyone with a sweet tooth. With milkshakes, sundaes and non dessert items like chicken with waffles, sliders with rainbow buns etc. Signature treats include a number of celebrity-endorsed Couture Pops, smoking Goblet Drinks, candy infused cocktails, and the one-and-only King Kong Sundae with 16 scoops of ice cream, tasty toppings, and even sparklers!

Toothsome Chocolate Emporium is a steampunk- inspired themed chocolate factory and eatery.  You can eat dinner there, but everyone is mainly there to ensure they have dessert!

Completely instagrammable for teens with the decadent, sugar filled desserts. The building is reminiscent of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and is one of the fun family restaurants in Orlando. The Universal City Walk is free to enter with free parking after 6pm and is a great place to wander around in the evening with kids.

12. Titanic Gala Dinner

Come aboard the “Ship of Dreams” and be a guest at one of the most famous dinner parties on board Titanic. Join Captain Smith, Margaret “Molly” Brown, and additional first-class passengers for a night to remember. Check in by 6:30 p.m. to obtain your boarding passes, and table assignment, with the event lasting 3 hours.

The Titanic First Class Dinner Gala includes a Captain’s cocktail party, a tour of Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition, a first-class dinner, and reenactments of the night of April 14, 1912. You need park tickets for this one as it is inside Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Dine in an ancient cavern, home to Greek gods, magical waterfalls and more.
