If you’ve ever driven down International Drive, then you may have already seen the strange upside-down house. And if you haven’t, then yes, there really is an upside-down house!
The house in question, is WonderWorks, a unique and unforgettable experience that challenges your mind and makes you think outside the box. WonderWorks combines entertainment with education, helping children (and adults) spark their imaginations.
In my opinion, WonderWorks is a must-do when visiting Orlando. Not only is it fun, and educational, but it’s also completely air-conditioned, which in my eyes is a huge win-win. Perfect for rainy days in Orlando or to escape the heat – it should be on your list of things to do in Orlando with kids!

WonderWorks on International Drive Orlando is one of 6 interactive museums in the USA.
What Is WonderWorks?
WonderWorks is a 35,000 square foot indoor amusement park with over 100 hands-on exhibits.
They claim to have once been a top-secret laboratory located in the Bermuda Triangle. But, after an experiment went wrong, the lab lifted from the triangle and landed, upside down, on International Drive. If that doesn’t give you an indication of how cool the exhibits are inside, then I don’t know what will!
There are six zones throughout WonderWorks: Extreme Weather Zone, Physical Challenge Zone, Space Discovery Zone, Wonder Art Gallery, Light and Sound Zone, and the Imagination Lab. All zones have incredible themed activities for your little ones to explore.
How Much Is WonderWorks?
Wonderworks prices: The standard All Access ticket on the WonderWorks website is as follows:
- Adults – $34.99 + tax
- Children – $25.99 + tax
- Seniors – $25.99 + tax
- Children 3 and under – free
This ticket will not only get you into WonderWorks, but you’ll also have access to laser tag, an indoor glow in the dark ropes course, and a 4D XD theatre. There is also an All Access + ticket which comes with an additional official case book and an $8 arcade game card, and an After Dark Ticket which allows you to enter WonderWorks after dark (past 8 pm).
WonderWorks is also included on the GoCity Explorer Pass. This pass allows you to pay an upfront fee for 2, 3, 4, or 5 attractions, which in the long run, can save you a ton of money.
Say you went with the 2 choice pass, at the time of this writing it is currently $54 for an adult and $45 for a child. With that pass, you can then select two attractions from the list.
For example, WonderWorks, which is $37.44 after-tax, and the Sea Life Aquarium Orlando which is $33.87 after tax would usually total $71.31. With the GoCity Explorer Pass, you’d be saving over $17 per person. It’s definitely worth taking a look at if you’re heading to Orlando.
What Are WonderWorks Opening Hours?
WonderWorks is open 365 days a year from 9 am to midnight with the last tickets for the attraction being sold 60 minutes before closing time.
There is also a cafe located inside WonderWorks that is open Sunday – Thursday from 11:30 am to 8 pm, and Friday – Saturday from 11:30 am to 10:30 pm. This sells typical fast food like hotdogs and pizza.
How Long Does It Take To Go Through WonderWorks Orlando?
There are so many things to see and do in WonderWorks that you could spend most of a day there if you try every single activity. On average, however, three to four hours is more than enough time to leisurely stroll through the different zones and witness all the wonders within.
Where Do You Park at WonderWorks Orlando?
Parking for WonderWorks can be found at the Pointe Orlando parking garage. It’s then just a short three-minute walk to the attraction itself.
Parking Fees:
- Two hours – $5.00
- Three hours – $7.00
- Four hours – $10.00 (maximum fee)

Notable Displays and Activities at WonderWorks
I mentioned before that WonderWorks has six separate zones and inside these zones are a selection of displays and activities that really get your mind going. Here are some of the most notable activities so you can get a feel for WonderWorks and all its glory.
Extreme Weather Zone

- Tesla Coil – Turn yourself into a human lightning rod with the Tesla Coil that produces powerful electrical fields. Don’t worry, it is completely safe!

- Earthquake Cafe – If you’re lucky enough to never have experienced an earthquake, then you can get a feel for the power they have in the Earthquake Cafe. While sitting at a table you’ll experience an earthquake that measures 5.3 on the Richter Scale.

- Hurricane Shack – Don’t waste time doing your hair before visiting WonderWorks because the Hurricane Shack will be sure to mess it up. Inside the shack, you’ll experience category 1 hurricane winds of up to 74 miles per hour.
- Ice Water – We all know the story of the Titanic and what the passengers on board had to go through, but what we can’t imagine is the temperature of the water they were submerged in. Set the timer and see how long you can hold your hand in the -2 degree water.
Imagination Lab

- Dig It Sandbox – This isn’t an ordinary sandbox. The Dig It Sandbox has computer-generated sensors that pick up on what your little one is doing and building. They can really let their minds run free creating everything from Jurassic mountains to safari lands. Watch as volcanos erupt and dinosaurs move!
- Gear Works – Kids can spend time connecting gears on the gear wall to see how they interact with one another. This activity is all about force so they’ll learn that the smaller gears create less force and the larger a greater force.
Light and Sound Zone

- Giant Piano – Use your feet to hit the keys of the giant piano. Your kids can attempt to play a song, or just run up and down the keys to listen to the noises they make.
- Strike a Pose – It’s normal life it’s hard to really see your shadow as most of the time it’s behind you. The strike a pose activity shines a light on you and a special backdrop wall that once you move away from will preserve your perfectly formed shadow.

Physical Challenge Zone

- Bed of Nails – This is one of WonderWork’s most popular exhibits. Your kids can again learn all about forces and test their bravery lying down on a bed of 3500 nails. The Wonderworks bed of nails lets you lie down and then with a press of a button the nails all come up lifting you. Does iit hurt? No surprisingly!

- Bubble Lab – I don’t think there is a single child out there who doesn’t love bubbles. In the bubble lab, you can create bubbles from a bubble screen, or even make bubbles big enough to encompass a person.
- Pulley Power – In this exhibit kids will learn about the mechanical advantage of a pulley system. While sitting down on a chair, they will try and pull themselves up using a series of pulleys.

- Wonderworks Rope course – Participants will scale to a maximum of 36 feet while conquering over 20 different obstacles, crossing carefully over suspension bridges, swinging beams, lily pads and more! The course is glow in the dark, adding to the fun!

- WonderWorks Laser Tag – Outplay, outlast and outshoot the other players. You can try to stay hidden but you’re bound to be spotted eventually, so keep your eyes open and your mind sharp. Laser Tag combines innovative technology to provide players with a one-of-a-kind interactive experience. Laser Tag is included in your WonderWorks ticket. It has loud music pumping and strobing lights.
Space Discovery Zone

- Space Suit – There is nothing more fascinating than space and kids can live out their astronaut dreams by exploring a life-sized EVA spacesuit.

- Astronaut Training Challenge – Does your child think he has what it takes to be an astronaut? The Astronaut Training Challenge is a two-person gyroscope that spins and rotates to imitate the conditions in outer space.

- Wonder Coaster – In this coaster simulator, you can create your dream rollercoaster, experiencing dips, flips, turns, and drops. If coasters aren’t your thing, you can also choose an underwater virtual submarine adventure.
Wonder Art Gallery
- Illusion Art Gallery – These works of art really are one of a kind and the entire family can debate the different objects that they can see in each piece.
- Dr. Seuss Unorthodox Taxidermy – Check out Dr. Seuss seventeen taxidermy sculptures and witness their weird and fun beauty right at WonderWorks.
WonderWorks Magic Show
A magic show for all the family which included food. A one-of-a-kind entertainment experience with non-stop laughter and engaging audience participation..Doors open at 5:30PM for the 6PM show and 7:30PM for the 8PM show.
