Magic Kingdom Characters To Spot And Where To Find Them

Sharing is caring!

Magic Kingdom is home to the most character experiences of all four of the Disney parks. And having visited Walt Disney World countless times over the years, I’ve become a bit of an expert on exactly where to find them.

For me, character meet and greets are a huge part of the Disney magic. And if you don’t want to miss out, then keep in mind that these experiences can get extremely busy. If there are characters that are an absolute must-meet for you, then you’ll want to schedule these experiences into your day, arriving as early as possible to secure a spot.

Magic Kingdom Characters To Spot And Where To Find Them

The best way to plan your Disney day—both rides and meet and greets included—is on the My Disney Experience app. The app will become your lifeline while holidaying at Walt Disney World as it includes everything from ride wait times and dining reservations to an interactive map and of course, where and when you can meet Disney characters.

Checking the app on the day you arrive at the park will give you the most up to date information. However, below I’ve created a rough guide of all the characters you can meet at the Magic Kingdom, where exactly you can find them, and i’ve included some top tips to ensure the best meet and greet possible.

Adventureland

  • Captain Jack Sparrow outside Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar.
  • Jasmine and Aladdin across from Magic Carpets of Aladdin in the Agrabah Bazaar.

Fantasyland

  • Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, Donald Duck, and Goofy inside Pete’s Silly Sideshow from 10 AM to 7 PM. There are two separate lines at Pete’s Silly Sideshow. One line for Minnie and Daisy and another for Donald and Goofy. If you want to meet all four characters, you will need to line up twice.
  • Ariel in Ariel’s Grotto from 10 AM to 7 PM. Ariel’s meet and greet entrance is on the right of the Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid entrance.
  • Belle at the Enchanted Tales with Belle show. At the end of the show, children are welcome to meet Belle and take photos.
  • Peter Pan near Peter Pan’s Flight.
  • Anastasia and Drizella at Cinderella’s Fountain.
  • Rapunzel, Tiana, Elena, and Cinderella at the Princess Fairytale Hall. Similar to Pete’s Silly Sideshow, there are two lines at Princess Fairytale Hall. The first line is to meet Cinderella and Elena, while the second is to meet Tiana and Rapunzel. To meet all four princesses, you will need to line up twice.
  • Mirabel at the Fairytale Garden.
  • Winnie the Pooh and Tigger at the ‘Thotful Spot’. During special events, you may even get to meet Piglet and Eeyore.

Frontierland

  • Country Bears at the Country Bear Jamboree. Unfortunately, the Country Bears don’t do meet and greets. However, they will wave and interact with you from a distance.
  • Chip and Dale at the Rivers of America River Walk.

Liberty Square

  • Merida at the Liberty Square gazebo.
  • Mary Poppins near the bell in Liberty Square.

Main Street, U.S.A.

  • Mickey at Town Square Theater from 9 AM to 9:30 PM.
  • Snow White at the Town Square Theater Porch
  • Mulan at the Town Square Theater Porch.

Tomorrowland

  • Stitch near the Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin exit.
  • Buzz Lightyear near the Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin exit.

Character Meals

As well as making appearances around the park, some characters also greet guests at three select Magic Kingdom restaurants. I’ve personally eaten at all three Magic Kingdom character dining restaurants, and I can honestly say they are some of the best experiences we’ve had in the parks. Character dining options in Magic Kingdom include:

  • Eeyore, Piglet, Winnie the Pooh, and Tigger at the Crystal Palace restaurant on Main Street, U.S.A.
  • Beast at the Be Our Guest restaurant in Fantasyland.
  • Cinderella, Ariel, Snow White, Jasmine, and Aurora at Cinderella’s Royal Table restaurant. Upon entering the restaurant, guests will meet Cinderella before taking their seats. Throughout the meal, Ariel, Snow White, Jasmine, or Aurora will greet guests at their tables. The princesses rotate depending on the day, so there is no guarantee which princesses you’ll meet during your meal.

Parades

One of the best ways to see a huge selection of characters while visiting Magic Kingdom is to secure a prime spot on Main Street, U.S.A., before the park’s parades. Magic Kingdom has both a parade and a cavalcade (head over to Why You Shouldn’t Miss The Magic Kingdom Shows and Cavalcades for more information on those) that run at set times throughout the day, with each of them starring various characters from a whole heap of movies.

Festival of Fantasy Parade

The Festival of Fantasy Parade begins at 3 PM and makes its way from Fantasyland to Main Street, U.S.A. The parade is subject to weather conditions, but if you’re blessed with dry weather, then you can spot the following characters:

  • Alice, The White Rabbit, Anna and Elsa, Ariel, Beast, Belle, Captain Hook, Mr. Smee, Peter Pan, Chip ‘n Dale, Daisy and Donald Duck, Snow White, the 7 Dwarfs, Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather, Flynn Rider and Rapunzel, Jiminy Cricket and Pinocchio, Tinker Bell, Mad Hatter, Alice, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Tiana and Prince Naveen, Pluto, Cinderella and Prince Charming, Prince Philip and Aurora.
Why You Shouldn’t Miss The Magic Kingdom Shows and Cavalcades

Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade

Times vary but around 11.15 from Fantasyland, through Liberty Square, and down Main Street, U.S.A guests can sing along with their favourite Disney characters during the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade. The cavalcade now has the largest amount of characters of any cavalcade to date, and those characters include:

  • Max Goof (son of Goofy), Jose Carioca, Panchito Pistoles, Moana, Miguel Rivera, Woody, Jessie, Aladdin, Jasmine, Genie, Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, Timon, Baloo, Mulan, Stitch, Marie, Terk, Elena, Merida, Mr. Incredible, Elasticgirl, Pocahontas, Meeko, Mary Poppins, Bert, Bruno, and Raya.

Shows

And if the meet and greets and parades werent enough, you can also spot beloved Disney characters in one of the shows on the stage infront of Cinderella’s Castle.

Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire Stage Show

Mickey’s Magical Friendship Fare Stage Show takes place at 10:00 AM, 11:10 AM, and 12:45 PM. You can spot the following characters throughout the show:

  • Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Tiana, Naveen, Louis, Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, Olaf, Anna, Elsa, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck.

Let the Magic Begin

Additionally, the Let the Magic Begin show welcomes guests to the park at 8:55 AM and stars the following characters:

  • Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Pluto, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck and Chip ‘n Dale.

Tips For Meeting Characters at Magic Kingdom

  • For characters with set appearance times, I recommend lining up as early as possible (no later than 15 minutes before the scheduled time), as meet and greets get extremely busy.
  • You can use Multipass on some character meet and greets (for example Mickey at Town Square Theater.) I’d only recommend using your Multipass on a meet and greet, however, if meeting one of the characters is a big priority of yours.
  • Although many characters meet and greets have PhotoPass photographers, ask a cast member to take photos of you and your family with your phone. Over the years, we’ve had some not-so-fabulous PhotoPass photos, so it’s always nice to have a back up!
  • Regularly check the My Disney Experience App for character meet and greet times and locations.
  • Take along an autograph book and have the characters sign the pages. You can purchase Disney branded autograph books in the park or you can take your own from home.
