Magic Kingdom Rides for Two-Year-Olds and Younger
The entire family is well-catered for at Magic Kingdom, and that includes twos and younger! With rides spanning from carousels and tea cups to rollercoasters and water flumes, there is truly something in Magic Kingdom for all heights and ages.
If you’re taking your tiny tot to the most magical place on Earth, then you may be wondering what attractions they’ll actually be able to enjoy. So, for that reason—after enjoying numerous trips with my own little ones in tow—I’ve put together this list which highlights suitable and age appropriate rides that you can add straight to your itinerary.

Astro Orbiter

Flying high above Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom is the Astro Orbiter—a space-themed aerial carousel. To get to the ride’s platform, you will need to enter into an elevator. But if your tot isn’t afraid of heights, then you’ll get some seriously epic views of Magic Kingdom.
The Astro Orbiter doesn’t have a height requirement—meaning two-year-olds and under are more than welcome—however, the ride does have some speed to it, so that’s something to keep in mind.

The Barnstormer
If you have a taller, thrill-seeking two-year-old, then one of the best rides in Magic Kingdom is The Barnstormer in Fantasyland. This mini rollercoaster, which lasts less than a minute, sees you take flight above Storybook Circus with Goofy in a homemade stunt plane.
The Barnstormer was actually one of the first rollercoasters I took my daughters on when they were toddlers. So, if your two-year-old is taller than 35 inches, get in line and enjoy the ride.

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
Toy Story fans will be happy to know that Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is suitable for all ages. With no minimum height requirement, the entire family can work together to defeat Zurg by shooting targets with laser beams.
Even to this day, Tomorrowland’s Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is a crowd favourite in my family. But really, who can blame us? We love a bit of healthy competition!

Dumbo the Flying Elephant
A much loved Magic Kingdom ride for two-year-olds and younger is Fantasyland’s Dumbo the Flying Elephant. Similar to Astro Orbiter, Dumbo is an aerial carousel that passengers can control with joysticks. Kids of all ages and heights are welcome on Dumbo as long as a parent rides with them. It is still a must do for my family due to all the nostaglia!
Haunted Mansion
Whether or not the Haunted Mansion is suitable for twos and under is up for debate. But as there is no minimum height or age requirement, there is nothing stopping you from taking your tot along for the ride.
If you’ve never been on the Haunted Mansion before, then know that the ride is dark and you will see special effects ghosts. However, there aren’t any jump scares, and your carriage moves at an incredibly slow pace meaning braver little ones might actually enjoy the experience. That decision is ultimately up to you.
The actual ride is similar to Arial’s Little Mermaid ride, but you ride slowly in a bat instead of a clam shell.

“It’s a small world”
For my family, no trip to Magic Kingdom is complete without riding “It’s a Small World”. It’s simply just a must!
The gentle boat ride in Fantasyland guarantees to capture your toddler’s attention thanks to bright colours, singing dolls, and, of course, the iconic, catchy and slightly annoying “It’s a Small World” theme tune. It can be rather painful on the ears if you get stuck on the ride though!

Jungle Cruise
Over in Adventureland is yet another must-do Magic Kingdom attraction for twos and under. And that is Jungle Cruise. The riverboat cruise—which is manned by a hilarious skipper—takes you through a tropical waterway past animal animatronics and the backside of water (if you know, you know.) With no minimum height requirement, the whole family can hop onboard and set off on a cruise down the river.
Liberty Square Riverboat
A ride that people often overlook in the Magic Kingdom is the Liberty Square Riverboat. I’ve personally come to love the Liberty Square Riverboat over the years as it’s the perfect attraction for those times when you just need a break and to slow down. Seating is limited on board.
Spending the entire day in Magic Kingdom—and all of the parks, for that matter—can be tiring. So, finding places like the riverboat to stop and take a breather can make all the difference. Plus, you get to see beautiful areas of the park, like Tom Sawyer’s Island, so what’s not to love?
Mad Tea Party
If motion sickness isn’t an issue for your two-year-old, then the Mad Tea Party will be right up their alley. This Alice in Wonderland-themed teacup ride, with its bright colours and passenger-controlled tea cups, is a hit amongst little ones. Just be sure to ride it prior to eating!

The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
Disney sure does love its aerial carousels, as over in Adventureland, toddlers can jump on board a magic carpet on the Magic Carpets of Aladdin ride. The Magic Carpets of Aladdin ride doesn’t have any age or height requirements, so kids of all ages can soar around on a magic carpet just like Aladdin.
You’ll also get to control the carpet as in the front two seats are controls that move the carpet up and down, while in the back two seats are controls that rock it back and forth.
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Another great Magic Kingdom ride for two-year-olds and younger is The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. As you board an oversized hunny pot, you’ll be transported to the Hundred-Acre woods to see Winnie the Pooh and all of his friends.
Although the ride in itself is fantastic, what I particularly love about The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is the interactive play area in the queue. We all know the queues at Disney can get long (to say the least), so this play area really helps break up the waiting time.

Peter Pan’s Flight
One of Magic Kingdom’s most popular rides is actually toddler-friendly, as Peter Pan’s Flight has no age or height requirements. After jumping on a pirate galleon, you’ll follow Peter on a gentle cruise over London all the way to Neverland.
Disney has even updated the queue of the ride—with interactive aspects—to resemble the Darling home. Peter Pan’s Flight is another must-do attraction for my family, even if the queue is considerably long at times.
If you have the means, I highly suggest looking at your dates and the availability of rides with the MultiPass and SinglePass, to see if you will need them for any must do rides e.gPeter Pan’s Flight.

Pirates of the Caribbean
Although Pirates of the Caribbean is open to all heights and ages, I personally wouldn’t take my two-year-old. Not only is the ride dark with loud noises, but it also has a small drop down into the water that could be quite scary for unsuspecting little ones.
If your tot is brave, then by all means, let them live out their pirate dreams. But if you don’t want to scare them off of rides in the future, I’d give this one a miss.

Prince Charming Regal Carrousel
Magic Kingdom has been home to The Prince Charming Regal Carrousel since its opening day in 1971. And thanks to slow speed and the fact that riders have the choice between riding on a horse or in a beautifully carved chariot, it is an attraction that will appeal to all generations.

Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover
In addition to the Liberty Square Riverboat, another of my favourite rest stops in all of Magic Kingdom—regardless of whether I have a toddler in tow or not—is actually on the PeopleMover in Tomorrowland. The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover takes you on a ten-minute tour of Tomorrowland, showing you behind-the-scenes rides like Space Mountain and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin.

Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid
Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid is a family-friendly ride in Fantasyland that is suitable for all ages. After making your way through the interactive queue, you’ll step onto a seashell to begin your underwater adventure.
Throughout the ride, you’ll not only witness special effects, hand-drawn animations, and large animatronics, but you’ll also get to sing along to some movie’s classic songs—my girl’s favourite part!
Walt Disney World Railroad
Another attraction that I feel is majorly overlooked—but one that train-loving two-year-olds will be ecstatic about—is the Railway that transports guests around Magic Kingdom. Open to Disney guests since Magic Kingdom’s opening day, the Walt Disney World Railroad gives you a tour of the park while stopping at various stations along the way.
Whether you’re riding the train simply because your child loves trains or because you don’t want to walk from A to B, it’s a fantastic ride that all Disney goers should experience at least once in their lifetime.
