Can you bring food into Disney World? Yes, you can but there are limitations! Whether you are visiting Disney World with kids or not, you are allowed to bring food into the parks which if your kids eat as much as mine do is a huge relief as those snacks costs soon add up!

As we mentioned above, yes you can but Disney has some rules about outside food!
- Guests are allowed to bring outside food and non-alcoholic beverage items into the park for their own use only.
- Food and drink must not be in glass containers. Exemptions: Baby food in small glass containers is permitted.
What food can you bring to Disney?
- Food and drink must not have an offensive smell.
- It must not need heating, reheating, processing, refrigeration or temperature control.
- Snacks are allowed into the parks as long as they make these requirements.
Exceptions:
- Alcoholic beverages are banned, except at the Disney Resort hotels and Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. Wine may be brought into Disney Springs to be consumed at select table service restaurants only, corkage fees apply.
- Baby food in small glass containers or otherwise is permitted. There are microwaves in all of the Baby Care Centers which can be found in all 4 parks. (While the water parks, Resort hotels and Disney Springs do not include Baby Care Centers, baby changing stations can be found in most restrooms.)
How Much Food and Drink Can You Bring into the Disney Parks?
There is no set limit on the amount of non alcoholic drink or food you can bring into Disney World: which is great news for larger families who those with kids that can happily snack all day!
Bringing Dietary Food Into Disney World
If you are bringing your own dietary food or snacks, it must also meet the Disney rules. However, do bear in mind, Disney is one of the most dietary friendly places to visit! Here is some further info about special dietary requests on site. So, yes, you can bring your own food into Disney World.

Can You Bring Water into Disney World?
Absolutely, yes. You can bring as much water as you want, buy in the parks or refill at the free water refilling stations/fountains throughout the parks.
You can also find water and ice filling stations in most Quick Service restaurants, but just ask a cast member if you can’t spot it. Plastic cups are there too if you have forgotten yours or need extra.
Some people don’t like the taste of the free water in the parks, so bring their own refillable bottles. If you are from the UK or Australia, note that squash is hard to find in the USA and expensive – not many people will know what it is. A good way to save money and space in your baggage is to buy some Robinson mini Squash’d to add to the water if you need.
Note, Disney’s Animal Kingdom ban plastic straws and cup lids to protect the animals.

Can You Bring Reusable Water Bottles into Disney World?
Yes, they help to reduce waste too! Water fountains are located throughout the parks, with many close to restrooms. Some can be a bit tricky to fill up a bottle though, so a quick service restaurant is your best option.
You can also find water and ice filling stations in most Quick Service restaurants, but just ask a cast member if you can’t spot it. Plastic cups are there too if you have forgotten yours or need extra.
Special hydration stations are also available for bottles. Look out for them at:
- Cosmic Ray’s in Magic Kingdom.
- At Hollywood Studios you can refill at the restrooms near the exit of Smuggler’s Run (in Galaxy’s edge) and in the line for Slinky Dog.
- At Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, there is one by the lines of Na’vi River and Avatar Flight of Passage and Expedition Everest.
- At EPCOT, you will find one at the Starbucks in the World Showcase and the other is at the EPCOT Experience.
Do note there is a limit on the size of cooler and not every park permits straws. More on this below!
Can You Bring Coolers into Disney World?
Yes, you can bring coolers as long as they meet Disney rules. These include:
- No larger than 24″ long x 15″ wide x 18″ high (or 61cm x 38cm x 46cm).
- Loose ice-cubes or dry ice is not allowed. Resusable ice packs are permitted.
- Alcohol is not permitted inside the parks.
- Coolers are not allowed in indoor venues like the ESPN Sport Complex.
A good alternatiive to a cooler is a multi-purpose cooler backpack where you can fit all your Disney essentials plus some cold drinks and snacks.

Can I bring a Straw?
Plastic straws are being phased out and you are not allowed to bring your own plastic straw in Animal Kingdom, any Disney water park or Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge (Kidani Village and Jambo House).
How to Save Money on Food at Disney World
- Purchase a refillable mug and get free refills at special locations. You can even share a cup between people.
- Consider a lunch dining sit down reservation instead of dinner as it is cheaper.
- Choose Quick Service Restaurants.
- Share a meal. The adults’ portions are large enough to share.
- Or choose from the children’s menu – these often come with an apple puree and some fruit.
- Bring your own Snacks to resist temptation on the Disney ones. Choose items that won’t melt.
- Bring your own water and refill throughout.
- Eat a large breakfast before the parks.
